Is Caleb Williams Making Matcha The New Game-Day Drink?

When you think about football, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Maybe it’s the players, the fans cheering in the stadium, or even the food and drinks that people get to enjoy while watching the game. However, for Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, there is one drink that has become part of his game-day routine: matcha.

Whether he is walking into the stadium or making an appearance before a game, Williams has been spotted carrying his iced matcha alongside him. What started as a personal drink preference has turned into something that fans recognize him for. Even the whole team has started to embrace his matcha obsession with the stadium officially introducing a specialty drink inspired by the quarterback.

Why Everyone Is Talking About Caleb Williams’ Matcha

It is no secret that matcha has become one of the most popular drinks that many people enjoy today, especially with the rise of coffee shops, social media trends, and people sharing their favorite drink orders online. However, Caleb Williams has given matcha another spotlight by making it part of his pregame routine.

Williams has shared his love for ice matcha, often drinking it with his breakfast before games. His usual pregame meal has also become a fun topic that his fans are talking about, especially since it includes matcha, an omelet, and a pancake with syrup. Even his coach has noticed his breakfast routine, joking about keeping the same meal going on game days.

Beyond his matcha obsession and breakfast routine, Williams has also become recognizable for his personal style. It is clear that his routine has become a part of his look whenever he arrives at the stadium. Between his weird headphones, painted nails, outfits, and matcha cup, fans have started to recognize these little details as part of his personal style.

More Than Just A Pregame Drink

The Chicago Bears fans have been showing their appreciation for Williams by embracing some of his signature looks which includes the painted nails and matcha drink. During a Caleb Williams look-alike contest hosted by The Wiener’s Circle in Chicago in January 2026, some contestants even brought matcha cups to complete their outfits. It’s a funny example of how much a player’s personality and personal style can influence the people who support him.

The trend has even made its way in the Chicago Bears’ stadium. Levy Restaurants introduced a specialty cocktail called the “Wired In,” inspired by Willams’ matcha obsession. The drink combines matcha, coconut milk, and rum and is served in a Chicago Bears souvenir cup.

Who would have thought that a simple iced matcha could become part of a football player’s signature game-day look? His matcha routines show how even an everyday drink can become part of an athlete’s recognizable image.  But when you have an athlete whose personal style is already recognizable, even their favorite beverage can become a part of their identity.

At the end of the day, Williams is still a quarterback whose job is to lead his team in the field. But his matcha has become a fun part of the experience for fans who enjoy following everything about him, from his game-day outfits to his favorite drink. So the next time you see someone walking around with a matcha and wired headphones, maybe they are just having their own Caleb Willams moment.
