Chipotle’s Gold Foil-Wrapped Burritos Are Back

Go for the gold with Chipotle’s gold foil-wrapped burritos this summer. Starting July 25, the day before the 2024 Olympic’s opening ceremony, every burrito ordered will be automatically wrapped in gold foil while supplies last. What viewer wouldn’t want to get into the Olympic spirit by eating a gold foil-wrapped burrito during this special time while rooting for their favorite athletes? Chipotle isn’t stopping there, the fast food chain is offering new menu items to celebrate some of Team USA’s athletes.

Chipotle’s gold foil burritos

It’s simple, all customers need to do is order a burrito — in-store or in-app — and it’ll automatically be wrapped in Chipotle’s gold foil.

Chipotle first debuted the gold foil during the summer of 2021 in celebration of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The fast food chain is bringing the gold foil back almost three years later in all locations nationwide and debuting it in France. This will include six Chipotle locations in Paris and one in Lyon, giving all Olympians and Parisians the chance to eat out of the glamorous gold foil for a limited time.

Team USA Specialty Menu Items

To celebrate American athletes even more, Chipotle has teamed up with star athletes including Anthony Edwards and Sara Hughes to offer their favorite to-go orders through the mobile app or website. Customers can choose the following favorites from Team USA Olympic athletes:

Basketball player Anthony Edwards’ menu item is the Anthony Edwards Steak and Chicken Bowl which costs $10.70. It features half chicken, half steak, brown rice, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, and lettuce.

Soccer player Sophia Smith’s burrito, The Sophia Smith Chicken Burrito, costs $8.95. It’s stuffed with chicken, brown rice, light black beans, light pinto beans, fresh tomato salsa, tomatillo red-chili salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream, and cheese.

The Taylor Fritz Chicken Bowl, an ode to the tennis player, costs $11.60 and comes with double chicken, white rice, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole.

Beach Volleyball player Sara Hughes also has a burrito that costs $15.90. The Sara Hughes Double Steak Burrito includes double steak, white rice, black beans, cheese, and lettuce.

Finally, The Jagger Eaton Chicken Burrito that costs $8.95. Skateboarder Jagger Eaton’s burrito features chicken, white rice, black beans, tomatillo red-chili salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, cheese, guacamole, and lettuce.

These specialty menu items will get you pumped for watching all the events unfold at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
