One of life’s greatest joys is ordering a big bowl of pasta and the server grating a generous amount of cheese on top, followed by a variation of “say when” or “tell me when to stop.” Perhaps some of the novelty of this experience is the handheld grater itself — you know, the little spinny thing that they crank?

If you’re on Olive Garden TikTok (if such a thing exists), you’ve surely heard about some exciting news surrounding this funky tool. Bo Gjerness (@bo_gjerness on TikTok) in a recent video shared that “I went to Olive Garden for my birthday…and I asked the waiter, ‘you know, do you guys sell the cheese graters?’ and they do!”

Jordan Howlett (@jordan_the_stallion8) stitched the video and tried it out for himself. “I got to the Olive Garden, I went to the manager,” recalls Howlett. “All I said was ‘cheese grater?’ and she said ‘give me one minute.’” Like Gjerness, Howlett received a container full of cheese to try alongside his new grater.

Can you actually buy the Olive Garden cheese grater from Olive Garden??

We wanted to see for ourselves whether or not the Olive Garden cheese grater is available for purchase. After calling three different Olive Garden locations in Massachusetts (Dorchester, Attleboro, and Worcester), we can confirm that yes, Olive Garden does sell its cheese graters. The consensus about cheese coming with it varied by location. Dorchester said no, but the Attleboro and Worcester locations told us that it could probably be included with it if you asked.

How much do they cost?

While neither of the above creators included how much the graters cost, a video by @awesum.adddison back in January revealed that they cost $15.

So, if you’ve got a craving for cheese and want a fun way to add it to your favorite dish, make your way to your nearest Olive Garden for this prized item.
