The Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty Is Back & You Can Get Them For Free

It’s not ice cream and it’s not a milkshake, but it may just be one of the most perfect fast food desserts. Yes, I’m talking about the delightfully creamy, cold and refreshing, soft but not soup-y Wendy’s Frosty. And, while I’m a chocolate girlie through and through, I am never, ever turning down a Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty. And finally, after a months-long hiatus, the Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty is officially back on menus nationwide.

When is Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty coming back?

After a months-long hiatus, Wendy’s is officially bringing back the Vanilla Frosty, available now nationwide at the fast food chain. Fans have been desperately awaiting the return of the beloved flavor, which is frequently swapped out with limited-edition or seasonal flavors such as Triple Berry and Orange Dreamsicle. According to the Wendy’s Frosty FAQ, these seasonal offerings feature flavored syrups added to the vanilla base, which could explain why vanilla Frostys are only available a few times throughout the year.

Other Frosty flavors including pumpkin spice, peppermint, and strawberry have been offered on the Wendy’s menu in the past, and could even make a comeback in the future. Still, Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty fans remained hopeful for a comeback for the classic, and their patience has paid off.

How do I get a free Wendy’s frosty?

Not only is Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty back on the menu, so is the fan-favorite Wendy’s Frosty Key Tag. Now through February 15, fans can purchase the tag and hack 2025 with a free Vanilla or Classic Chocolate Frosty every single day December 31 at participating locations.

For only $3, Wendy’s beloved Frosty Key Tags include unlimited Jr. Frosty treats with any purchase, all-year long. Plus, proceeds from each Frosty Key Tag sold will directly benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and its mission to find safe, loving and permanent homes for children waiting in foster care, which makes this deal even sweeter.

How do I get a free Wendy’s Frosty Key tag?

If you’re in-store at a Wendy’s or visiting the drive-thru, simply ask to add a $3 Frosty Key Tag when placing an order.

You can also get a Wendy’s Frosty Key Tag via the app as either a digital or physical tag, both for $3. If you’re ordering via the app but want to pick up a physical keychain, just add a physical Frosty Key Tag to your order. If you want to receive your Frosty Key Tag as a mobile offer, the digital tag can also be purchased in the Wendy’s app and applied to future mobile orders, plus added to your Wendy’s Rewards card for in-restaurant scanning.

If you want to gift Frosty Key Tags to a large group — whether it’s classmates, coworkers, or friends — you can also buy physical Frosty Key Tags in bulk on the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption website.

Are the Wendy’s Frosty Key Tags available at all locations?

You can score a $3 Wendy’s Frosty Key Tag at most, but not all, Wendy’s locations. To see if free Frostys are available at your local chain, check the physical or digital menu.

Regardless of how you buy your tag, don’t wait to grab a Frosty Key Tag and indulge in a spoonful of Vanilla Frosty before it’s gone – because who knows what new Frosty flavor innovations are planned for 2025.
