Here’s What You Should Serve At Your ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Finale Watch Party

After three seasons, The Summer I Turned Pretty is coming to an end. The highly anticipated finale is airing September 17, and it can’t come fast enough. Fans are eager to see who the main character, Belly, ends up with. Will she choose her fiance Jeremiah, his brother (and her ex-boyfriend) Conrad, or, in a twist of events, choose herself and end the show single? Regardless of what outcome fans are hoping to see on the screen, everyone is going to be tuned in for the last episode — and what better way to enjoy the end of a rollercoaster of a series than with a watch party complete with all the iconic food from the past three seasons? Here’s what to serve at your watch party.

Avocado & Sprout Sandwiches

For the main course, consider throwing it back to season one — when Belly had a love interest that wasn’t a Fisher brother. Cam Cameron, we miss you dearly. Like the true gentleman he is, he made Belly avocado and sprout sandwiches for their date. TikToker Maty Harrington shared her own take on the sandwich, complete with mayo, pesto, spinach, Persian cucumbers, avocado, green peppers, and sprouts.

Peaches

Everyone remembers the iconic peach scene from episode 5 of season 3. I mean, has it really left any of our minds since we first saw it? Belly made those peaches look so delicious and juicy, and Conrad — well, we all know what he did!

As a sweet dish for your watch party, serve some sliced peaches. You can serve them plain, or add some yogurt or honey for a fancier touch. TikToker @thereadersgroupchat baked her peaches with brown sugar, honey, and a block of brie cheese in the middle. Do this, and trust me, all of the Conrad supporters will thank you.

Wedding Cake

If you’re going to satisfy the Team Conrad members, you’re going to have to have something for Team Jeremiah as well. He’s a guy who’s very passionate about cake, specifically his wedding cake. We all know he loves a good dark chocolate, two-tiered cake with raspberry coulis and a mirror glaze.

While it may sound complicated, it’s actually not too hard to recreate a similar cake for your watch party guests. You don’t need every single detail: after all, Jeremiah would be happy as long as there’s a mirror glaze. You can simply make a box cake, or even buy one from the grocery store and follow a mirror glaze tutorial. Just make sure you have something to balance out the bitterness of the dark chocolate and the sweet tartness of the raspberry. If you know, you know.

Pie

Back in season two, Belly and Jeremiah make a stop on their journey to find Conrad. They go to Rosie’s — a pie stand on the side of the road. Whether you decide to put your baking skills to the test and bake a pie from scratch, or choose to just pick one up from the bakery, the sentiment is still there. Our girl Belly loves pie, and even though we might not always agree with her actions, we still need to pay homage to her at the watch party.

Muffins

Muffins seem to be a recurring food in this series. In season one, Conrad brings Belly what they refer to as the “good muffins” in an effort to cheer her up. While we don’t really get to see what makes these muffins so good, fans did some investigating and found that they are supposed to be cinnamon roll muffins. TikToker Michelle Meng shared her own recipe for these so-called good muffins.

In season three, Conrad bakes Belly dirt bombs, a type of nutmeg flavored muffin rolled in cinnamon sugar. This man’s love language is definitely muffins!

Sour Patch Kids & Swedish Fish

In season two, we see the boys bicker over what Belly’s candy of choice is. Conrad insists that she doesn’t like Swedish Fish because she thinks they taste like candles. He says her favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids. Jeremiah doesn’t believe him and buys her the fish candy anyway, only for Conrad to be right.

If you want to incite a war at your watch party, serve two bowls of Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish. Team Conrad can feast on the sour candies, while Team Jeremiah can enjoy the candle-flavored gummies.

Pomegranate Margaritas

You absolutely need to serve pomegranate margaritas at your party. In season one’s Fourth of July episode, we see Belly and the rest of the gang whipping up pomegranate margaritas, but with a twist — Kool-Aid powder. Belly, who does not know how to handle her alcohol yet, causes some chaos (remember her conversation with Conrad at the outdoor shower?)

To make these refreshing summer drinks, all you need are limes, pomegranate juice, cherry Kool-Aid powder, salt, and tequila and triple sec (the alcohol is optional). Rim your glasses with lime and salt, add all the ingredients to a blender with ice, and you’ll have Belly’s iconic, frozen concoction. Just try not to act like her after drinking them!

Slurpees

We all know that Conrad is not a fan of slurpees. He claims they’re too sugary, but that doesn’t stop him from stealing a sip of Belly’s. Regardless, a sweet, “sugary” slurpee is the perfect watch party beverage. If you have a blender, you can make them yourself: you just need club soda, sugar, and drink mix powder. Or, you can be really authentic to the show and grab a slurpee from a roadside convenience store, like 7-Eleven.

Hot Cocoa

To end the night, you’re going to need something warm and soothing — there’s no doubt the finale will be a wild ride. And what’s more comforting than a mug of sweet hot cocoa? It also pays homage to the most iconic scene of season two, and maybe of the whole series. Fireplace scene, you will always be famous.

Assuming Belly makes the right decision (Conrad, I’m looking at you), you’ll be able to enjoy the ending of the finale while sipping on the official drink of Team Conrad.
