Taco Bell is going naked. Well, it's tacos are at least. The fast food Mexican chain announced on Wednesday that it's ditching the tortilla shell for chicken, with the addition of new Naked Chicken Chalupa to the menu. It's about to be scandalous.

In the wake of testing new products, such as Crispy Chicken Chips and Loaded French Fries, the Naked Chicken Chalupa is something we haven't seen before. It's a fried-chicken shell filled with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and avocado ranch sauce. Whoa.

Taco Bell has been all in with new variations of products, while still holding the title of being one of the healthiest fast food options. Wondering how to make a taco shell out of chicken? It gets fried into a chicken shape with a contraption that is used to make the Waffle Taco. The batter is infused with spices and seasoning that's supposed to make this item pretty spicy.

The new taco will be available nationwide on January 26th for $2.99. The product has been in testing since May in Bakersfield, California and Kansas City, Missouri. Taco Bell told Buzzfeed that feedback from testing this product was very positive. People are saying it actually tastes fresh and healthy. Wow, that is pretty surprising.

“We feel confident that once our fans get a taste of the Naked Chicken Chalupa they are going to understand exactly why this is our next big, fun and craveable innovation, following in the footsteps of the Doritos Locos Tacos five years ago and the Quesalupa just last year,” said Marisa Thalberg, Taco Bell's chief marketing officer.

The new menu item will be available at all Taco Bell locations in two weeks, and we can't wait to get our hands on them. Hopefully it's more impressive than its Crispy Chicken Chips
