Support Melanoma Awareness Month With Loved By The Sun From Devils Backbone Brewing Co

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Hofstra chapter.

Summer is right around the corner and we all know what that means: laying on the beach, relaxing in the pool and embracing the outdoors. Personally, I know how easy it is to get carried away basking in the sweet rays of the sun. While having a golden tan might get you a few extra likes on Instagram, it is important to take care of your skin. This month is Melanoma Awareness Month and keeping your skin healthy should be part of your self-care routine.

What Is Melanoma Awareness Month?

May is Melanoma Awareness Month which was created by the American Academy of Dermatology. The goal is to raise awareness about skin cancer and what people should be looking for on their skin on a regular basis. Did you know skin cancer has a greater likelihood of being treated effectively if detected at an earlier stage?

As part of Melanoma Awareness Month, Devils Backbone Brewing Co. has teamed up with the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) to raise funds and awareness around melanoma prevention as its official Beverage Partner with the launch of its new low-calorie beer: Loved by the Sun.

Loved by the Sun is a peach-mango beer that comes in a sun activated color-changing can. Each can of Loved by the Sun is activated by UV rays, changing different colors with each beam. The beer has Pilsner, Weyermann Pale Wheat and Weyermann Acidulated malts, as well as Bravo hops, in addition to peach and mango puree all at 4.5% ABV.
