Thanksgiving TV episodes are one of the best parts of the holiday, and the Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episode ranks at the top of the list.
Here’s what the Upper East Side elite would bring to dinner:
Blair: Turkey
As Queen B, Blair has to be in control of everything. Obviously she wouldn’t let anyone else be in charge of the most important part of Thanksgiving. All eyes will be on the turkey, and her, of course.
Serena: Stuffing
Serena is the ultimate party girl: free-spirited, unpredictable and wild. Stuffing is the same way. There are so many ways to make it, and you never know what you’re going to get or what’s going to be in it.
Nate: Cranberry Sauce
Let’s be honest, Nate was always most interesting when he was dating Blair or Serena, or Blair again. Once he started dating older women, he got kind of irrelevant. Cranberry sauce has the same dilemma. It’s great paired with turkey or stuffing, but on its own, no one knows quite what to do with it.
In the show, Dan is sent out to pick up a pumpkin pie, which ends up getting run over when he saves Serena from getting hit by a car. This is a metaphor for Dan’s character throughout the entire show. Despite his best efforts to belong in the Upper East Side, he will always fall short and be the outsider from Brooklyn.
Jenny: Green Bean Casserole
This is the dish that no one likes, but somehow always ends up on the table anyway. Similarly, Jenny is the girl everyone loves to hate. She was a threat for awhile, but everyone knows Blair will always be the true queen of the UES.
Chuck: Alcohol
Chuck rarely appears in the show without a drink in his hand, so did you really expect anything less? In case you forgot, he’s Chuck Bass.
Hope your Thanksgiving is as fabulous and dramatic (or not) as everyone’s favorite Upper East Siders.
xoxo,
