And in we welcome 2017! Recently, Netflix has made a habit of releasing new movies and shows available every month. With the new year, there is an abundance of movies and shows that were just released.

TV Shows about Food

Chef’s Table 

A Netflix original that follows many chefs from around the world and how they express their talents and passions through culinary cooking. Each episode highlights a different chef showcasing their unique cooking style and their own culinary journey. This show is your source of inspiration to defy the laws of culinary cooking.  (Psst! For those who have followed with the show, season 2 is now available on Netflix!)

Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown 

This one is a binge-worthy commitment -- six seasons with eight hour-long episodes all about traveling and cuisine. Part of the reason why we travel is to sample the local delicacies and immerse ourselves into their culture. Anthony Bourdain, an Emmy-winning host (and all around food genius), takes you deep into different parts of the world to uncover hidden gems and open your eyes to cultures and their current political states.


This is another Netflix produced show that looks at cooking starting all the way from the beginning...literally. It explains how cooking started from the 4 natural elements: fire, water, air and earth. If this doesn’t make you ask your grandmother for her traditional family recipes, then I don’t know how these recipes will be passed on. The trailer perfectly sums up a relationship of between food and people and how it all comes together.

Chef's Table France 

Chef’s Table France is a spin-off going off the OG Netflix documentary, Chef’s Table. If you are interested in French cuisine and culture, this series specifically focuses on that. Now you can really be like Remy from Ratatouille by witnessing what these chefs are doing with food in France.

Restaurant Australia 

For those who really want to know what is going on down under. Follow three chefs discovering and uncovering all of Australia’s fresh ingredients into award-winning dishes.
