We’re just a couple of weeks into Lent and it looks like we’re already out of ideas about what to eat on Fridays! For many of us, meatless dishes during Lent do not go much further than pizza. But how many times can you really eat pizza?! Okay, maybe you can eat it a lot, but some change is always good! Here are 10 meat-free options to try every Friday before Easter:
1. Eggs
Whether you like them on bread, with veggies, in a salad or all by their lonesome, eggs are the perfect substitute for your favorite protein in just about any dish!
2. Peanut Butter & Jelly
Nothing like a classic Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. Other fancier options: Nutella and Fluff!
3. Vegetable Stir Fry/Lo Mien
Veggies in noodles or rice? Yum! Trust me, you won’t even miss the meat!
4. Salad
You can pack it with whatever you want! From avocado to shrimp, there are so many options to make your veggie-packed salad even heartier and more filling.
5. Sushi
Even if raw fish isn’t your thing, veggie rolls can be the perfect meal for a meatless Friday!
6. Cheese Ravioli
Or any pasta, for that matter. Slather them in butter, olive oil, or add your favorite (meatless) sauce on top!
7. Grilled Cheese
Seriously, who doesn’t love this childhood favorite? Bonus points if you get some tomato soup to go with it!
8. Breakfast for Dinner
They do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Make your night extra special when you swap out a traditional dinner for pancakes, waffles, french toast and cereal.
9. Fish Tacos
With fish, any night can be a taco night! Stuff your tortillas with grilled shrimp or fish for a fun and easy Friday night meal.
10. And of course if all else fails, PIZZA!
Okay, but does anyone really ever get tired of it?
