How to Make a Personal Chocolate Chip Cookie

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at IU chapter.

To reward myself for surviving midterms, I wanted something sweet. Hey, we all deserve a treat once in a while… or every time we get that pesky essay done at the last minute. However, leaving my apartment in my pajamas wasn’t a very appealing option, so I decided to try out a new recipe.

Instead of baking a whole batch of cookies or buying a dozen from your local bakery, throw this simple cookie together in just a few minutes. As a bonus, it’s also a bit healthier; if you’re not familiar with white whole wheat flour, it’s a fiber-filled baking revelation that can replace all-purpose flour without affecting texture.

Soon, you’ll have one big cookie all to yourself. Because portion control is a thing — but, more importantly, cravings are real.

Transfer dough to prepared baking sheet and form into a cookie.

#SpoonTip: The dough will be a bit crumbly, but don’t worry — a little molding with your hands will do the trick.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, until firm and slightly golden. Let cool for a few minutes before devouring with a glass of milk.

#SpoonTip: If the craving can’t wait, microwave on a plate for 45 seconds to a minute instead of baking in the oven.
