Nina Summers is a writer for the Spoon University National Writers Program for summer 2026. Her job is to keep-up with, research, and write timely food related news stories, as well as monthly lifestyle features.
Beyond this program, Nina is attending The Ohio State University for a degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing. She spent some time as an editor for The Lantern at Ohio State and as a writer for The Paw Print at Green High School. She held the role as Managing Editor and Features Editor all four years of high school. Nina also has had articles published in her local newspaper The Bulldog Blast, with special featured photography. Outside of writing, Nina works for the Akron Zoo as a Guest Experience team member for the summers.
In her free time, Nina loves to read and cook. She spends a lot of time making new recipes with her mom and traveling with her friends. When she's not reading or cooking, Nina loves to stay active by going on walks or playing pickleball. Most summer days you can find her lounging at the pool with a fantasy book in hand.
