Make This Healthy Açai Bowl in 6 Minutes

Açai bowls are great but they’re literally just fruit (and sometimes added sweeteners).  Just because it contains a superfood doesn’t make it magically fill all of your nutritional needs.

Unlike most açai bowls, this one has no added sugar or sweeteners and the hemp protein powder will keep you satiated.  If you buy a quality brand like Manitoba Harvest, you can get upwards of 20g of protein (without the chalky taste many protein powders have).

The fat from from coconut is heart healthy and actually helps you burn fat instead of storing it, no need to be afraid.

    Slice the frozen banana(s).

    #SpoonTip: It’s best to freeze bananas whole and peeled, but only after they have brown spots because they’re easier to digest.

    Add hemp protein powder, coconut water, coconut milk, frozen berries and vanilla extract to a blender.

    Once blended, add the açai berry pack(s). Blend until a consistent texture is achieved. Add another few ounces of coconut water if it’s too thick to churn on it’s own in the blender.

  4. Lastly, add frozen bananas and blend until smooth and creamy. Serve with toppings like unsweetened coconut flakes, chia seeds, cinnamon, berries, granola or nut butter.
