1. Ice Cream Sandwiches
I have never met anyone that didn’t enjoy ice-cream sandwiches – you get the best of both worlds, cookies + ice cream. Someone told me that calories don’t count on Galentine’s day, so why not take advantage of it?
First off, find your favorite type of cookies, whether that be sugar, chocolate chip, double fudge, snickerdoodle, etc.
Then, find your favorite type of ice cream. I usually pick vanilla.
Put a scoop of ice cream on one of the cookies and use a spoon to smash it down. Then, grab another cookie and place it on top. You can repeat this step as many times as you want — it just depends on how many sandwiches you want to make!
Lastly, put your sandwiches in the freezer for at least 2 hours to harden.
2. Galentines Pop Corn
This snack is the easiest to make and the most delicious! Basically, all you need for this recipe is any type of popcorn, M&M’S Valentine’s milk chocolate candies, and candy hearts.
When making this snack for your girlfriends just dump all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them around to ensure everything is distributed evenly. The best thing about this recipe is that the mixture essentially has something for everyone – kind of like trail mix. I am not a huge candy heart fan, but I always clear out the M&M’s and popcorn.
3. Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries
Just hearing chocolate-dipped strawberries makes me think of love, which is perfect because I have so much love for my girlfriends and I’m sure YOU do too! In all honesty, you can buy these from the store too, but they can be pretty expensive. Making them at home is relatively simple and you can customize what kinds of chocolate you want to use.
You can use any type of chocolate chips you want for this snack (dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate) or all three because why not. I usually use dark chocolate because I feel like the bitterness of dark chocolate pairs well with strawberries. You dump the chocolate chips into a microwave self bowl and heat them until they turn into a liquid.
Then take your strawberries and dip them one by one into your liquid chocolate. After dipping, place them onto a tray and put them into your refrigerator to harden for several hours.
These will be a huge hit with your girlfriends!
4. Heart Shaped Melon
So, this last recipe is kind of tricky if you don’t have a fruit or cookie cutter, but you can find them on Amazon for relatively cheap.
Once you have the utensil, all you need is your favorite melon! I always use watermelon because it is refreshing and the pink color is aesthetically relevant to Galentine’s day. You just cut the melon and use the cutter to make heart shapes.
Enjoy Celebrating Your Ladies! I know Valentine’s Day can be overwhelming, whether you are single or in a relationship. Hopefully celebrating Galentine’s day the day before can help you let loose because at the end of the day, our soulmates are our forever friends.
