Everything You Need To Know About Raw Water

We’ve done sparkling water, fruit in water, but now get ready for our newest change to water: raw water.

According to The Washington Post, raw water comes from simply holding your water bottle under a “natural spring,” leaving you with “crystal clear water” and “potentially… beneficial bacteria.” Raw water is supposed to be the unfiltered alternative to water, because of the supposed lack of chemicals.

According to health experts drinking raw water could additionally offer important minerals for the body.

The trend started a few months ago, towards the end of 2017. Different places across the country have jumped on the raw water bandwagon, already growing a successful profit, as raw water is sold as a “high-dollar commodity.”

Live Water is one of the raw water companies, residing in Oregon. Their website promotes the use of raw water because of the chemicals and other contaminants that could be residing in typical water. 

But, raw water may not be all it’s cracked up to be.

Despite the potential for beneficial bacteria and minerals, there are plenty of dangerous and dirty substances that can be found among the raw water, including harmful bacteria, parasites or viruses. Also, some of the minerals raw water may have could come from a healthy, balanced diet.

Plus, raw water comes from springs and streams where other species are using the water to drink from, and to, you know… use the bathroom.

Clean water is an essential part of human life and health. With our unbelievably vast access to clean water, risking our health to jump on board with the latest trend may not be the best idea. 

But there could also be issues with your typical plastic drinking water bottles, with leeching chemicals and other toxins

Experts are suggesting that regular water may be the most healthy way to consume water. The Environmental Protection Agency constantly updates water regulations to ensure that citizens have access to clean, healthy water, especially in regards to tap water. 

If you’re still looking for a way to spice up your water to make it even healthier, you can always resort to the simple lemon and cucumber water trick. Lemon offers a ton of benefits to your body, including minerals, vitamins and it is a great way to help rid your body of toxins.
