12 Best Popcorn Dishes for National Popcorn Day

Popcorn is one of the most popular snacks to get while you’re at the movie theater. However, most movie theater snacks are infamous for being overpriced to the max. While this might deter some people away from the movie theater, this doesn’t mean that you can’t watch movies at home. Why not utilize your Netflix account and make some popcorn dishes at home for National Popcorn Day on January 19th.

1. Chocolate-Drizzled Popcorn

If anyone tells you that chocolate can’t go on top of popcorn, tell them that they’re wrong and that any combination is possible as long as you believe.

2. Sweet and Salty Peppermint Bark Popcorn

Sometimes, having to decide between sweet and salty is a cruel and unusual decision that you’re forced to make. However, when you have popcorn that’s both sweet AND salty, you won’t have to decide between the two, and you’ll have the best of both worlds.

3. Honey Butter Sea Salt Popcorn

While honey butter sea salt popcorn might come off as the most basic on this list, sometimes, basic is good. As my mom says, “don’t fix what isn’t broken.”

4. Popcorn Balls

While this isn’t your traditional popcorn, it’s in the shape of a ball. And you know what? Toy balls are fun to play with, and all forms of food in the shape of a ball are enjoyable to make and to eat.

5. Tequila Caramel Corn

While I highly doubt that it’s possible to get tipsy off of popcorn featuring three tablespoons of tequila in it, that doesn’t mean that this popcorn isn’t tasty or anything.

6. Holiday Popcorn

While this is one of the more bougie popcorn dishes that’ll be mentioned this article, it gives you a reason to be somewhat festive… or it gives you a reason to have another Instagram post of food, but that’s completely up to you.

7. Churro Popcorn

Who ever said that you can’t combine churro and popcorn with one another? Not me, since I’m encouraging you to do so with the help of this recipe.

8. Curry-Dusted Popcorn

While most popcorn dishes are bland, this one isn’t. I’d suggest making it for your friends who swear that you don’t know what seasoning is. It’ll blow them out of the water.

9. Sriracha Popcorn

In my own little world, Sriracha is its own food group. While I tend not to put it on everything in sight, what I would do is put it on my popcorn.

10. Caramel Apple Popcorn

If you’re able to get over the fact that this popcorn will forever look burnt, then go for it—chances are, the sweetness of the popcorn will overshadow the harsh look of it all.

11. Cake Batter Popcorn

While this is the only popcorn dish out of all of the popcorn dishes that are mentioned in this article that doesn’t sound like it would work, it’s important to take risks in life.

12. Parmesan and Garlic Popcorn

Yes, I understand that this isn’t your standard popcorn dish—most of these dishes aren’t—but the recipe includes cheese in it and everyone loves cheese.

By the end of National Popcorn Day, any of these popcorn dishes will suffice. While some are easier to make than others, regardless of which recipe you end up going with, you can say that you were busy chefin’ it up in the kitchen.
