Upgrade Your Stuffing Leftovers With These Waffles

Stuffing is by far my favorite Thanksgiving dish. Everyone knows the best part is the crispy edges, and I just found a way to maximize those bits to elate everyones taste buds. Introducing the waffle iron.

Prepare a batch of stuffing and rather than baking it in a casserole, which only allows for one surface of crispiness, cook it in a waffle iron. Yup, waffle stuffing is that simple. 

Traditional “Waffle” Stuffing

    Put margarine/butter into a medium sized pot on medium heat. After the butter begins to melt, add the celery and onions.

    As the celery and onions become coated with margarine/butter, add salt and pepper to taste. Then add the Arnolds stuffing mix (or any store bought stuffing mix) and mix thourougly. Add chicken broth and continue to stir. Add water until the stuffing is well blended.

    Turn on a waffle maker and let it heat up. In a bowl, place 1 1/2 cup of stuffing with one beaten egg and mix together. Continue to repeat this step until all the stuffing is used.

    Place the egg and stuffing mix in the waffle maker and let it cook for three minutes. The waffle should be golden brown when finished.

    Garnish with cranberry sauce, gravy or turkey and enjoy!
