Hot dogs, chicken fingers, cotton candy and ice cream are all foods you would expect to find at a football stadium. But Memorial Stadium in Champaign is switching things up. Starting this season they are offering fresh Apple Pie Nachos.
You heard that right. Apple Pie Nachos. And let me tell you, you do NOT want to miss out on these.
What makes an “apple pie nacho”?
These nachos are made of warm, cinnamon sugar tortilla chips that are made fresh on game day. If that somehow doesn’t have your mouth watering, good news because that’s just the beginning.
Next comes a generous helping of apple pie filling. Will you look at that gooey, sugary goodness?
Finally, this masterpiece is topped with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle.
As a student at the former #1 party school, I know a good party when I see one. That’s why you can trust me when I say there was a party in my mouth after trying these nachos.
This was essentially what I looked like while eating them.
What makes them so good?
The gooeyness of the filling perfectly complemented the crunchiness of the chips. It warmed my body from the inside out, and I can only imagine how much better it would be on a brisk game day.
The nachos were created specifically for Memorial Stadium, so be sure to try them for yourself before football season ends. You won’t regret it.
