4-Ingredient Vinaigrette That Goes With Any Salad

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Sewanee chapter.

I love eating salads, but whenever I go out to eat and read the menu, there always seems to be a fancy and creative dressing that matches perfectly with only the specified salad. Don’t get me wrong, they are delicious, but trying to create a special concoction at home can be a little difficult.

That’s where this easy vinaigrette recipe comes in handy. I’ve been making it for years, and it has never failed to disappoint me in tasting great with whatever salad I put together. What is even better is that you probably already have these four ingredients in your kitchen!

Simple Salad Dressing

Instructions

  1. Abigail Shipps

Pour in the olive oil and vinegar into a small bowl.

  2. Abigail Shipps

    Add in the mustard.

  3. Abigail Shipps

Add in the honey and stir until all the ingredients are mixed together.

  4. Abigail Shipps

Pour on top of your salad of choice and enjoy!

Creative salad dressings can be fun to make if you’re up to it, but simplicity gets the job done just fine. Simple does not mean plain, however. The Dijon mustard and vinegar add an acidity and sourness that is balanced out by the oil and honey in a basic but interesting flavor.

Feel free to add the ingredients to taste as well. Sometimes, I add a little more mustard if I want a thicker dressing, or more honey if I want a little extra sweetness. There is no doubt that your next bite of salad should have this easy go-to dressing on top!
