Here’s Why You Need To Alter Your Diet with Alter Eco Chocolate

I love chocolate. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of unwrapping a chocolate bar and snapping off a piece or having the first bite of a decadent, silky truffle. Sadly, it’s a known fact that chocolate treats tend to be processed and high in sugar, so they aren’t exactly foods you should eat on a daily basis. However, Alter Eco changes the game.

This company works to provide wholesome alternatives that won’t sacrifice any of the joy from the experience of eating. Its products are organic, sustainably produced and contain a maximum of seven ingredients. Oh, and the products are delicious.

I was fortunate enough to try out some of the bars and truffles, and here’s what I thought about them.

Dark Mint Truffles

We all know that the best part of eating at Olive Garden is the mints that they give you at the end of your meal. Well, Alter Eco does them better. Hold the gasps: It’s true. These guys are creamier than Andes, and much more satisfying. Plus, they taste more natural, and are not nearly as processed.

Sea Salt Truffles

It’s scientifically proven that salt enhances sweet flavors, and these truffles certainly support this claim. The coarse salt speaks in the creamy center and gives a satisfying bite that plays well with the sweetness of the cocoa. It’ll leave a pleasant aftertaste that is not overpowering.

Salted Caramel Truffles

Salted caramel is one of those flavors that’s become recently reinvigorated, and for good reason. With a balance between salty, sweet and silky, salted caramel is a mouthwatering flavor. These truffles were by far the best Alter Eco has to offer. The smooth caramel filling complements the crisp chocolatey outer layer. Together, the two textures mingle in your mouth — it’s a flavor sensation unlike others.

Dark Super Chocolate Blackout Bar

This chocolate bar is not for the faint-hearted. Composed of 90% cocoa, it’s a concoction every dark chocolate lover must try. It’s perfectly rich for the most sophisticated of palates.

Dark Chocolate Blackout Bar

If you enjoy dark chocolate and want to reap some of its health benefits, the Dark Blackout flavor is for you. It’s still 85% cocoa, so it’s healthier than most chocolate bars, but it’s much sweeter and contains fruity undertones. Give it a go if you’re intimidated by the Dark Super Blackout.

Dark Salt & Malt Bar

I’ve always been a fan of malt in milkshakes, but I never really knew what it was. That was before I tried this Alter Eco product. When you bite into this chocolate bar, you’re hit with crunchy bits that taste like a mix between roasted marshmallows and coffee. It’s delectable and one of Alter Eco’s newest flavors.

Dark Coconut Toffee Bar

Ah, coconut. It’s one of the most versatile ingredients. From oil to water, it’s a staple in almost every household. In this particular product, the coconut shines through the dark chocolate. Since it’s toasted, the product has a slight honeycomb-like flavor that is the perfect substitute to sugar-laden toffee.

Dark Salted Burnt Caramel Bar

This bar tastes almost exactly like the truffle equivalent, except there’s no caramel filling. Regardless, every bite is infused with sweet and salty caramel flavors, so a little goes a long way in terms of satisfying your sweet tooth.

Dark Salted Almonds Bar

Chocolate and almonds are a classic combination, and it’s about time that somebody created a treat that combines the two without any distractions (I’m looking at you, Almond Joy). The crunch of the almonds and salt give the bar an interesting texture.

Dark Salted Brown Butter Bar

Although this bar is not vegan since it has butterfat, Alter Eco ensures that the cows that produce it are treated ethically. If you’re looking for a chocolate bar that isn’t necessarily vegan but still a better, more conscientious option, this one is for you. It’s unique because it’s richer than most chocolate bars. Out of all the flavors, you have to try this one.

Alter Eco is changing the specialty food game by hitting the mainstream market, and I am here for it. I hope you are too.
