Why You Should Visit Malibu Farm Before the Semester Ends

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at USC chapter.

While Downtown Los Angeles is full of trendy restaurants, the LA bubble can sometimes be confining. Coming to LA, I couldn’t help but notice a specific place on everyone’s Instagram feed: Malibu Farm. Malibu was an exotic place I had only heard about on Zoey 101. Seeing all the posts about Malibu Farm, I thought maybe I was giving into the over-hype of it all. Little did I know how happy I would be to discover this gem of a brunch spot.

The vibe is quintessential California. Situated on a long, scenic pier, Malibu Farm is hard to miss. I passed surfers, families, and tourists as I walked to the restaurant. The service was swift and we sat down immediately.

There’s a café and a sit down restaurant- both are super aesthetically pleasing and have the same menu. Inside you’ll find dozens of LA natives brunching and avidly chatting with each other and the staff. The atmosphere is cozy, with views of the pier and the beach out of every window.

The menu is perfect for summer. The ingredients are so fresh and simple. The menu ranges from salads to steak, so there’s no going wrong here! My favorite dish was definitely the Salmon Sandwich. It’s a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth the money!

I was so happy that I explored this part of Southern California before the semester ended. The coastline is beautiful, and there’s always something to explore in Malibu. Bring a towel, some close friends, and of course your camera. Take the long uber ride and try it out while you can! Trust me, your feed will thank you.
