After some experimentation in the kitchen with various candies and things laying around my pantry, I’ve simplified the three flavors everyone looks for in a dessert: salty, sweet, and savory.
These three flavors have been concocted together into one bite in this salted caramel bark. You have your chocolate base, some crunchy pretzel bits, a hint of toffee mixed with chewy caramel, and a sprinkle of salt to add that final zing.
Break it up into any size and shape you want, as the chocolate sets very fast when using candy melts. It’s the perfect after-dinner dessert or movie snack. Honestly it’s a great period snack too; you really get the whole package. Not to mention with some ice cream and a blanket, you’re golden (if you cut the chocolate into triangles, they make for great ice cream scoopers).
It may look a little messy, but it was very easy to clean up with the parchment paper trick. This will take no more than a half hour to make, and leftovers will stay fresh for awhile. I can’t say for how long because I never had any left after a couple of days. Enjoy!
Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bark

Take a 9×13 pan and place it over a sheet of parchment paper. Trace an outline of the pan on the sheet, then flip the sheet over so that the side with the writing is on the bottom.
#Spoontip: The pan is only a guide for how large to spread the chocolate
Melt the chocolate according to the package directions. Pour it onto the middle of the sheet.
Spread the chocolate with a knife or spatula to the edge of your traced outline.
#SpoonTip: The chocolate should end up being about a ¼ inch thick on the sheet.
Sprinkle the broken pretzels, salt, and toffee bits evenly on top. Press very gently to get them to stick into the chocolate. Lastly, drizzle on the caramel.
Allow the chocolate to harden for about 15 minutes, then cut into pieces and serve to some chocolate lovers.
