These 30-Minute Avocado Fries Are Surprisingly Crispy

Fry up some delicious creamy avocado, add some spices and a pinch of salt for a crispy snack. The combination of the savory fruit mixed with coated flour and panko makes for a great golden brown crust. This avocado fries recipe will have you wanting more after one bite. It goes great with sauce and even better in a grilled cheese or BLT sandwich. It’s also a great healthy alternative snack or additive. 

Although the difficulty is a little harder when dealing with cooking oil, it’s still a pretty simple process, just be more cautious. So get to the store and fire up your oven, you’ve got some baking to do.

  1. Cut up the avocados.

  2. Heat 1 1/2 inches of oil in a saucepan until it reaches 375°F on a deep-fry thermometer.

  3. Put your flour and panko on separate plates and pour your scrambled eggs into a bowl.

  4. Cover each avocado slice with flour, then egg, and lastly coat it in panko.

  5. Carefully fry the avocado on each side until golden brown.

  6. Pat the excess oil with a paper towel, let cool, and serve.
