DIY Salted Caramel Sauce

Homemade salted caramel sauce should be a kitchen staple. It is the perfect indulgence and a more refined sugar, but not in the over-processed way. As far as I’m concerned, this is definitely a technique worth mastering so you can keep this sophisticated sweet on hand next time a sugar craving strikes.

Servings: makes 1 cup

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup cream
1 pinch salt

Directions:
1. Heat sugar, water and vanilla in a pot over the stove.

2. Bring to a boil, remove from heat when sugar is completely dissolved and caramelized.

3. Stir in cream and add a pinch of salt.

4. Spread salted caramel on everything…or at least wait until it cools to eat it straight from the pan.
