Waffle Breakfast Sushi

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Drake chapter.

As a huge fan of sushi, I find it appalling that I’ve never made my own. But I decided to be brave and try out this recipe in hopes that more people would be brave and try to make it, even if it isn’t the real thing. This recipe is healthy and tasty, although quite difficult

Slice your fruit into long, thin shapes so they will fit well in the roll.

Mix together waffle mix, milk, eggs, vegetable oil and sugar in a medium-sized bowl.

Spray your waffle iron with cooking spray after it’s done preheating. Spoon in waffle mix a little at a time, being careful not to overfill your iron.

Cook the waffle for 5 minutes, or until it becomes soft and fluffy, or otherwise to your liking.

Using a rolling pin, roll the waffles flat, being careful not to roll too much.

#SpoonTip: Your waffles will crumble and fall apart if you roll them too flat.

Spread whipped cream cheese onto each waffle until you get an even layer across.

Add fruits of your choice on top in rows, keeping them close together. Starting with the side with the most filling, roll the waffle into itself, being careful to keep the filling and cream cheese on the inside.
