3 Gourmet Frozen Yogurt Recipes Anyone Can Make in Their Dorm

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Union chapter.

We’ve all been there. Desperately craving frozen yogurt, but all odds are against you. Either you don’t have a car to get there, you’re short on money or the store is closed.

My solution? Make your own. Here are three recipes for you to try when you can’t get to your favorite fro-yo place.

Mango Coconut Frozen Greek Yogurt

Difficulty:BeginnerPrep time: 5 minutesCook time: 45 minutesTotal time: 50 minutesServings:1 servings

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Put the yogurt and the agave in a bullet blender and mix evenly. (The agave is used to sweeten the yogurt, so use as much or as little as you would like.)

  2. Pour mixture in a Ziplock bag and freeze for no more than 45 minutes (check on this about every 15-20 minutes to avoid over-freezing). Take out of freezer when the yogurt is at an ice cream like texture.

  3. Once frozen to desired texture, scoop into a bowl and top with mango, coconut and a drizzle of honey.

Pumpkin Spice Frozen Greek Yogurt

  2. Put contents into a Ziplock bag and freeze (see Mango Coconut recipe for freezing instructions).

  3. Scoop froyo into a bowl and top with maple syrup and pumpkin spice.

The chances of your froyo coming out perfect on your first try are very slim, but if you master the art, you’re pretty much set for life. If all else fails, here is a list of the best frozen yogurt in every state.
