5-Ingredient White Bread Every Sandwich Lover Should Make

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UGA chapter.

Bread has long been considered necessary for sustenance across the world historically, but did you know that bread’s significance as a staple in our diets has inspired some terms of nobility?

That’s right. The word “lord” is derived from the Old English term of “hlaford,” which translates to “giver of bread.” Meanwhile, the origins of “lady” is believed to come from “hlæfdige,” meaning “the kneader of bread.”

Over the years, society has started to trust grocery stores and bakeries to supply bread instead of resorting to baking a loaf at home. Others have discarded eating bread due to the carbohydrates and gluten it’s infamous for being loaded with. Yet, as a habitual sandwich eater, I cannot go without a thick slice every once in a while.

I’ve even learned to make homemade bread in my dorm’s community kitchen. This basic bread recipe not only requires few ingredients, but requires little time to make.
