Make Your Kid Self Proud with These S’mores Rice Krispie Treats

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Cornell chapter.

Every year when I go back to school, I want nothing more than to hang onto summer and the days when school was little more than snack time and recess. For this reason, I decided to make s’mores Rice Krispie treats reminiscent of the days I spent a five-year-old in the middle of July worrying about nothing more than how many Rice Krispie treats I would be getting for dessert that night.

The combination is only logical. S’mores taste like summer, and Rice Krispie treats taste like childhood. Well, classic Rice Krispie treats, at least, taste like childhood. As tasty as they are, slutty Rice Krispie treats and Rice Krispies stuffed with Oreos and Reeses don’t quite remind me of the treats I loved as a little kid.

Regardless, s’mores and Rice Krispie treats are inarguably an ideal combo. Together they will make you think of nothing more than long days full of swimming and sitting around a campfire. You get all the enjoyment of your favorite childhood snacks and zero hassle with this super quick and simple recipe.
