Pretty Little Liars is back on ABC Family Freeform for another season of heart-stopping, who the F is “A” moments, which gives us another excuse to throw a viewing party and break out the queso. But since we are 7 seasons in, maybe it’s time to take your PLL-pride one step further and make themed snacks. You’re in too deep to back out now, you mine as well go all out:
1. Red Coat Red Velvet Cupcakes
Anyone could whip up a red velvet cupcake, and the food coloring makes it that much easier to throw in a PLL touch. Starting in Season 3 up to the most recent season, Red Coat was one of the many anonymous, creepy characters hidden behind a wig and a mask. To make the cupcakes premiere ready, splash red coloring in the cream cheese frosting as well, and channel your artistic side to pipe on designs.
2. Dirt Pudding Cups with Gummy Worms
One of “A”‘s evil plans included that iconic (for us, not them) live bait disguised as Chinese food reveal in Season 2. Ah, the no-so-good old days. But, it’s also an easy recreation for you and your fellow liars next Tuesday. Use this recipe and simply add gummy worms to the top, using a Chinese food carton for the full effect.
3. An “Old-Fashioned”
You’ll need something to drink while watching the premiere and something to help with the nerves, so try an “Old-Fashioned.” You’ve never been closer to being Josey Wales… or “A.” Often seen sipping a glass at the end of every episode, AKA the creepiest part of the hour, this drink is definitely PLL-approved. Only, maybe don’t play spin the bottle with your friends’ heads as targets. Kinda weird.
5. Cocoa Puff Krispy Treats
Hanna is pretty much everyone’s favorite liar with her quick wit and eye for style (and Caleb by her side). With these Chocolate Cocoa Puff Krispy Treats, you can pay homage to one of Hanna’s one-liners while being baker-savvy. Or if you’re short on time, just pour everyone a bowl.
6. Cell Phone Cookies
You used to call me on my cell phone. But seriously, any Pretty Little Liars themed premiere night must have some treat with a cell phone tied in. Without any of those ominous texts and “SOS” buzzes, the show just wouldn’t be the same. Cookies are a good option because they make it easiest to mold the shape.
Nothing says summer like a summertime premiere, and PLL is always one to look forward to. Grab your friends and make an event out of it with these snacks.
Kisses, foodies. -A
