So it’s a Saturday night and you’re all alone… why not make a personal mug cake in your dorm room? I’ll tell you right now, that’s what I did last weekend. Spring Break is over, and it’s definitely acceptable to be lazy AF and pig out on the couch.
One of the roughest parts of going off to college was the fact that I would no longer be able to enjoy my mom’s weekly baked goods. Now that I could no longer just walk into “Robin’s Bakery” (AKA our kitchen) to grab a cookie, I had to figure out ways to satisfy my sweet tooth with only a microwave. A girl in my dorm introduced me to the beauty that is (drumroll please) MUG CAKE.
Who knew it was possible to make more than mac ‘n cheese in your dorm room? Well, now you do.
#SpoonTip: This recipe does work with a regular microwave too. And can be useful for more than something to do on a Saturday night.
Oreo & Milk Chocolate Mug Cake
Ingredients
Instructions
Add the butter and squares of chocolate to your mug. I bought a big 60 g chocolate bar and kept dividing it in half until I had 15 g.
Melt the butter and chocolate together in the microwave for 40 seconds.
Beat the mixture until smooth, let it cool slightly, and then add the whisked egg.
Add in the vanilla extract, flour, baking powder, and cream. For this, I just used regular cream. Now, stir it all together.
Add in the crushed Oreos. I put the Oreos in a plastic baggie and crushed them using the end of a knife.
Cook in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds. It might not look too pretty, but trust me, you now have yourself a prime Oreo cake.
Add another broken Oreo on the top to make it look prettier. Besides, who doesnât need an extra Oreo?
And now, for the best part, EAT IT and celebrate because you just made the quickest cake ever.
