Korean BBQ is usually stuck in the shadows of trendier Asian dishes like sushi and classic takeout options like fried rice. It’s time to bring this cuisine to the forefront, starting with a super simple bulgogi marinade. Throw this on thinly sliced sirloin or, if you’re a vegetarian, on meaty mushrooms (shiitake are perfect) and let it marinate for an hour. It smells so good, your roommates will come flocking to the kitchen. Take that, sushi.
