Autumn, movies, cozy drinks, and delicious popcorn go hand in hand with this crispy season. Here are some of the best popcorn recipes you can make right here at home! Enjoy!

Pumpkin Spice Popcorn

Popcorn is such a laidback snack that is easy to make, even when you fancy it up for a change. To make pumpkin spice popcorn, you need only 5 easy ingredients:

  • 10 cups of popcorn
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt

Mix together in a bowl and drizzle on the popcorn, and you’re almost near perfection! All you need to do is toss the mixture together until everything is covered in that sweet goodness.

Pumpkin spice as a flavor dates back many, many years from the Southeast Asian islands. Made up of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice, you can find yourself with an amazing autumn-y flavor that many know and love today!

Fun fact: one of the earlier-known pumpkin spice recipes was used in a 1675 British recipe called ‘Pumpion Pye.’

S’mores Popcorn

You’ll start to notice a common theme in making popcorn. It’s very straightforward! Perfect for date night activities, sleepovers, and pre-picnic prep! All you need are:

  • 10 cups of popcorn
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt

Once mixed, add a couple of cups of mini marshmallows to really seal the deal!

Did you know the ‘marshmallow’ as we know it today came from over 4,000 years ago from the Egyptians? This medicinal recipe was made from the roots of the Althaea officinalis plant. One would use the plant to make a syrup that could help treat coughs, improve digestion, and relax irritated skin!

Vermont Maple Popcorn

Preparing this delicious mix of flavors is an interesting one. You will need a pot of boiling water to mix a few ingredients and an oven to wrap it all up. Yikes! But before we go any further, let’s look at the ingredients for this one:

  • 8 cups of popcorn
  • 5 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

Now for the interesting part;

Combine the butter, salt, brown sugar, and maple syrup in a pot. Bring the contents to a powerful boil over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes and mix in the baking soda.

After, drizzle the pot onto the popcorn in a roasting tray. Once the contents are all dumped out, stir the popcorn to evenly coat it. That’s it! Just let everything cool down and you’re ready to enjoy!
