Bring These Flaming Phoenix Cocktails To Your Next Harry Potter-Themed Party

The following recipe and excerpt for Flaming Phoenix Cocktails are from “HARRY POTTER AND FANTASTIC BEASTS: Official Wizarding World Cookbook: Spellbinding Meals From New York to Hogwarts and Beyond!” by Jody Revenson and Sarah Walker Caron. It’s available for purchase on Amazon.

The phoenix bird is continually reborn. At the end of each life cycle, it erupts into flames and then rises up from the ashes of that fire. Albus Dumbledore has a phoenix named Fawkes, first seen in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It was a given that Fawkes would be the color of fire, with his top mainly burnt oranges and dark reds. At his last stage of life, he has the coloring of a burned-out match, with the last embers of brilliance around his eyes. Phoenixes are tied to the Dumbledore family; once Credence joins Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the Dark wizard shows the young man a phoenix chick: He tosses it into the air, where it grows to full size and lights on fire, reborn. This confirms to Credence that he is actually a Dumbledore. This fiery drink will bring every party or occasion to life over and over again.
