Rainbows, sparkles, and twirly horns, oh my. Unicorns are no longer bound to the mythical realm that we in the Digital Age call emojis. We are bringing them to life with this magical cookie recipe. Careful though, because these little buddies aren’t potty trained. If you’re not looking, they might leave a trail of stars and candies behind. However, that might not be such a bad thing.

Unicorn Piata Cookies
Ingredients
Instructions
Make magical sugar cookie dough. We used this recipe.
Divide the dough into quarters, and mix the essence of rainbows into each piece. Food coloring works too.
Break up the dough into little pieces and smush them into a ball.
Roll out the dough 1/4 in thick between two sheets of parchment paper.
Chill the dough for at least one hour.
Cut out unicorns using a cookie cutter. Use a toothpick to help keep the lilâ guys from flying away, and to ease out any dough that sticks in the cutter.
#SpoonTip: Stretch out the belly of the unicorn cutter to make room for the candies later on.
Peel away excess dough.
Bake the cookies at 350°F for 10-15 minutes, until they start to firm.
While warm, cut boxes out of the bellies of one third of the unicorns, making sure they go to their tushies.
Squirt a little melted chocolate on the back of the cut out cookie and place on top of a whole unicorn.
Fill with glitter, sunshine, star sprinkles or candies. Whatever you have.
Squirt a little more chocolate on the cookie and top with another unicorn.
Test out your unicorn to make sure it makes sparkly rainbows when it flies.
