These sweet puff pastry pretzels are almost as fun to make as they are to eat. If you’re in the mood to roll up your sleeves and roll out some dough, this chocolate pretzel recipe is perfect for you.
Chocolate Puff Pastry Pretzel

- 3 sheets puff pastry
- 2/3 cup grated chocolate
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon water
- Caramel sauce (optional)
Preheat oven to 400°F and spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.
Grate or finely chop chocolate.
Place a piece of parchment paper down on a flat surface and place a layer of puff pastry over it. Sprinkle with ⅓ grated chocolate and top with another layer of puff pastry.
On top of the puff pastry, place an additional piece of parchment paper and roll out a little bit.
#SpoonTip: If you don’t have a rolling pin, use a wine bottle.
Remove parchment paper and add another layer of chocolate.
Add a final layer of puff pastry and roll.
Cut into 18 strips.
Shape into classic pretzel shapes and place on oiled baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk 1 egg with 1 teaspoon of water and brush on top of pretzels.
Sprinkle with sugar and place in the oven for 12 minutes or until the top is slightly golden.
Serve with caramel sauce.
