For many, tofu can be pretty intimidating. It’s slimy, pale, and just plain ugly. But don’t let its appearance scare you — it’s arguably one of the healthiest proteins out there.
Whether you want it as a snack or a meal, this recipe is the quickest and easiest way to add flavor to an otherwise bland tofu dish. Not to mention, you’ll feel like a total badass eating soybean curds.
Spicy Pan-Fried Tofu
- Prep Time:15 minutes
- Cook Time:10 minutes
- Total Time:25 minutes
- 1 package firm tofu
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- 3-4 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil
Cut tofu into 9 rectangular blocks.
Marinate tofu evenly with soy sauce and Sriracha sauce for 15 minutes.
#SpoonTip: The longer you marinate the tofu, the more flavorful it will be.
Add vegetable oil, tofu, and marinade to pan on medium-high heat. If you have a grilled skillet pan, use that instead.
Let tofu sit for 5 minutes on each side or until browned. Top with more Sriracha sauce, if desired.
Serve and enjoy!
