In my high school years I decided to test the fact that “acid curdles milk” but, with ice cream (because why not)? Turns out the workers at Chick-fil-A also created this “icedream” concoction before it became an official menu item. Who knew lemonade and ice cream would be a perfect pair? You can replicate this right at home, without any fancy mixers. Now grab your spoon because it’s easy as 1, 2, 3.
#SpoonTip: If you prefer a less lemon-y version, use short of 2 tablespoons. 1 1/2 works just as well. Adjust according to the amount of ice cream you use. The creaminess will also depend on the quality of the ice cream you use. By using Dryers Ice Cream, I achieved a custard-like texture.
Chick-fil-A Frosted Lemonade
- Prep Time:5-10 minutes
- Cook Time:0 minutes
- Total Time:10-15 minutes
- 3 cup vanilla ice cream
- 2 tablespoon Country Time lemonade
- 2 tablespoon hot or room temperature water
Leave vanilla ice cream out for 5 minutes (optional). Serve 3 cups of ice cream (or scoops) into freezable cup.
#SpoonTip: Softer ice cream will help the mixing process.
Mix 2 tablespoons of Country Time lemonade with 2 tablespoons of room temperature water until dissolved.
#SpoonTip: Using hot water will help the lemonade mix dissolve better for a smoother texture.
Mix both lemonade concentrate with ice cream with a spoon, mashing or stirring it until it has a soft serve to milkshake texture.
Leave out or freeze further for desired Chick-fil-A frosted texture. Mix again to serve.
Enjoy frosted lemonade on a Sunday.
#SpoonTip: Be creative and use pink lemonade.
