Tired of your typical, basic, and plain old shots? When you’re tryna get crunk, you often find yourself sacrificing taste and throwing back plain vodka shots. But why do that when you can easily pimp up your shots, while also impressing your friends with your newfound bartending skills?
This rainbow shot recipe is equally as aesthetically pleasing as it is delicious. Fun fact, there’s some science involved in it too. The layering of the liquids has to do with their varying densities, so consider this a learning experience.

- Total Time:5 minutes
- 1 oz grenadine
- 3 oz sweet and sour mix
- 3 oz orange juice
- 1 oz vodka
- Splash of blue curacao
- 2 cup ice
Begin by pouring 1 oz of grenadine in a tall glass.
Fill the entire glass up with ice to help stack the layers.
Using the back of a large spoon, pour in 3oz of sweet and sour mix. This technique slows down the flow of liquids and prevents the layers from mixing too rapidly.
Pour in 3oz of orange juice.
Add 1oz of vodka.
Lastly, add a splash of blue curacao and pour immediately into 6 shot glasses.
See the rainbow, drink the rainbow.
