Well here’s the perfect remedy: quick and easy recipes that are all made in a mug and then heated in the microwave. So grab your biggest mug, head to the microwave and you’ll be enjoying a hot, homemade breakfast in no time!

Banana Oatmeal

Easy

Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 2-3 minutes
Total time: 4-5 minutes

Ingredients

1 ripe banana
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup milk
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Choice of toppings (berries, raisins, nuts, peanut butter etc.)

Directions

  1. Mash banana in mug.
  2. Top with oats, milk, and cinnamon.
  3. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes. Stop halfway to stir.
  4. Add toppings and enjoy!

Scrambled Eggs

Easy

Prep Time: 1 minute
Cooking Time: 1-1½ minutes
Total Time: 2-2½ minutes

Ingredients

2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Coat 12 oz. mug with cooking spray.
  2. Add eggs and milk; beat until blended.
  3. Microwave on high for 45 seconds; stir.
  4. Microwave until eggs are almost set; 30-45 seconds.
  5. Top with cheese, salt, and pepper.

French Toast

Cooking Time: 1½ minutes
Total Time: 4½ minutes

Ingredients

1 tablespoon butter
¼ cup milk
1 egg, beaten
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon white sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 slices of bread, cut into cubes

Directions

  1. Melt butter in the bottom of the mug, about 30 seconds. Tilt mug to coat all sides in butter.
  2. Stir melted butter, milk, egg, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract together.
  3. Press bread cubes into milk mixture.
  4. Microwave on high until set, about 90 seconds.
