We all know hummus is great. It’s creamy, filling, full of protein and perfect on pita, carrots or if you’re like me, a spoon. And yes, the grocery stores have LOTS of hummus with every flavor you can think of, but sometimes you just want something new. I set out to make new flavors, all homemade with fresh ingredients, and now I present four creative ways to get your hummus fix.

Easy

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 8

Ingredients:
1 can chickpeas
1 avocado
1 jalapeño
1 ½ tablespoon cilantro
The juice of 1 lime
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Strain and rinse the chickpeas.
2. Cut the avocado into small cubes.
3. Cut the jalapeño in half from the stem to the bottom. I removed the seeds from the jalapeño, but if you want an extra kick feel free to leave the seeds in. Then cut into small slices across the width of the jalapeño, making sure to not include the stem.
4. Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor, and blend until smooth.
