As a proud resident of the DMV who went to a boarding school in South PA, I can tell you about all the glorious trips I've made to Sheetz. Whether on the way back from a soccer game, a long trip back to college, or snacks on the way to a concert, Sheetz always has me covered.

Sorry to all the other gas stations out there that don't cut it.

I'm offended by all you New Englanders and Jersey residents and West Coast kids who have no idea what this magical gas station is. Sorry, West Coast cannot be the best coast without some Sheetz's scattered about.

Peanut butter hot chocolate, iced coffee, saladz, wrapz, nuggetz— Sheetz is all you could ever want, conveniently located right off the highways on the way to your destination. But if you're a Sheetz virgin, and you happen to stop by, I'm going to give you some advice.

Try. The. Mac. 'N. Cheese. Bites.

I'm serious when I say these babies are a gift from the heavens. I know what you're thinking, how could food truly be good when it's purchased right off the highway at a gas station?

First of all, Sheetz is hardly just a gas station. It's an oasis in the midst of 7-11s, Sunocos, Turkey Hills (if you know, you know) and Exxons. It's a signal that I'm heading home, that I'm entering familiar territory as I see the red signs rise up as I fly down highway 15 on my seven-hour drive home from school.

And every time I see it, I'm tempted to stop by for the classic mac 'n cheese bites. I mean, other places try to imitate them, my school included, but there's just something about the ones from Sheetz that you won't find anywhere else.

These won't do your body any good, trust me on that. But they'll give you a foodgasm so hard you'll be turning around for another dose. Mac 'n cheese bites. Even the name sounds delicious. You can't go wrong with mac and cheese, and you can't go wrong with fried foods, and you definitely can't go wrong with bite-sized food.

So when you combine them...Just thinking about them is making my mouth water and has me longing for another drive home just for a chance to stop by. Crunchy on the outside from the fried coating, shaped into little triangles, they're the perfect size to down in two bites. Once you bite in and feel the cheese gooey and dripping in your mouth, you'll be grateful that you chose these.

At $3.49, these babies are a steal. They'll keep you full and warm in the winter, and they'll keep your stomach full during the summer days when you're heading to those country concerts all DMV'ers love so much. Back off WaWa, back off Burger King—Sheetz mac 'n cheese bites reign supreme, and are here to stay.
