Since classes began, few of us have gone out into the New Haven food scene. Instead of dining out, we’ve been saving up for Woad’s or G-Heav munchies. But, with Family Weekend, we hope you all swapped some meal swipes for one of these restaurants.
For Those Who Had a Car
The Pantry
For a taste of some Instaworthy pancakes, you should have definitely driven to The Pantry for brunch. The cinnamon-swirl pancake is literally the size of your face, but every bite you take will leave you wanting more.
For the Vegetarians
Claire’s Cornucopia
Every parent wants to know that their kid is getting enough fruits and veggies. So, if you wanted to make your parents proud, you should have gone to Claire’s, where everything on the menu is absolutely deliciously healthy (cake can be healthy, too).
For Some Classy Comfort Food
Heirloom at The Study
Nothing makes you feel more at home than a grilled-cheese with tomato soup. If your parents were staying at The Study, we hope you took advantage! Even if they didn’t, we suggest you sneak on in, grab a table and give your taste buds something to sing about.
For a Quick Bite After the Game
Atticus
If you wanted to show your parents your studious side after the tail gate, you should have gone to Atticus to bond over some books and baguettes. Since service is relatively quick and take-out is an option, Atticus is a perfect place to go to on game day.
For the Sugar-Addicts
Crepes Choupette
I know you’ve been eyeing the crepes stand that opened in front of Silliman, staring as they smother the slabs of nutella on those thin pancakes. While your parents visited, didya treat yourself to a sugar coma?
For the Heart-Wrenching Good-Byes
Roia
As much as we love our parents, they were only here for a weekend. Good thing New Haven has some amazing food to make everyone feel better about going their separate ways! If you were in search of one last hoorah, you should have gone to Roia for a farewell dinner.
