7 Reasons Why You Should Have Gone to Spoon Yale’s Apple Fest

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Yale chapter.

Chances are, you were part of the assemblage of people and apples on cross campus last Thursday. Amidst the buzz of activity, there was a light octoberal (October equivalent of autumnal, duh) breeze, a delectable assortment of locally picked apples and freshly made donuts for consumption and a rather large piece of silverware (“is that a SPOON”) scintillating in the sunlight.

This was Spoon Yale’s Apple Fest. If you know what I’m talking about, good for you – here are 7 memories to cherish. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here are 7 reasons why you should.

1. The Giant Ass Spoon

Many a head turned at this behemoth of silverware – there’s something empowering about holding a spoon that’s over half your size, no? A lil confidence boost to get you through midterms, that’s for sure.

2. The Food

Cuz we all about that food. Apples picked from Bishop’s Orchard, donuts nice n’ crisp off the oven and seasonal toppings for decor – pretty please with a candycorn on top.

3. The #insta

6. The Swag

Winners of our Instagram challenge (basically to create the most #foodporn looking apple-donut-candy mishmash) are about to receive some pretty swiggity swaggity prizes. And that’s kind of a big dill.
