It can be hard for college students to drop $20 on a bar tab. Thankfully there is a long list of happy hours in Bellingham that allow us to enjoy ourselves, while also maintaining a budget. With a wide array of bars, cafes and breweries, options are far from limited.
Whether you and your friends want to grab a quick bite at Aslan Brewery, or a Chuckanut lager and dinner at Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, there are happy hours for both. And there are happy hours offered at many other local businesses as well. Here are a few, to help you and your friends decide on where to get happy tonight.
Aslan Brewing
The brewery known for their beers brewed right behind the bar, and their happy hour in Bellingham that is widely known by the whole community. Offering happy hour every day of the week from 2-5 pm and 9-10 pm. Their tasty food menu includes Irish nachos, waffle fry poutine, gourmet mac N’ cheese, caesar salad, black bean dip and chips and more. Oh and of course, the beer. $2 off pitchers, and $1 off any 16 or 20 oz beers.
Culture Cafe at Kombucha Town
Open every day of the week until the late hours of the night, with happy hour served 3-6 pm and 10-late. This bar is unique for its locally brewed kombucha and ethnic array of food choices, never leaving customers unsatisfied. And they definitely make it on the best happy hours in Bellingham list. During happy hour they serve tasty kombucha mixers and cocktails for as low as $4. The happy hour food includes ahi tuna poke, veggie corndogs, salmon town tacos and more, with dishes starting at $4.
Redlight Bar
Located right in the heart of downtown Bellingham, serves a daily happy hour from 4-7 pm. The bar offers $3 well drinks, $5 off bottled wine, $1 off select food items and free bar snacks. One of their favorited food items is the grilled cheese, with a vegan gouda option, for a cheap $5. Redlight is also known for their classic bar snack, the paprika goldfish.
Boundary Bay Brewery and Bistro
Known for their local food and handcrafted ales and lagers. Their “hoppy hour” is offered Sunday through Thursday from 3-6 pm and 9 pm-close. Their happy hour foods include a chicken mole quesadilla, pork tacos, award winning mac and cheese, a hummus plate and slices of bacon. Quite literally, slices of bacon, $1 a slice.
The Black Cat
A sensual bar located in a historic building in the old Bellingham district, Fairhaven. They serve specialty drinks and tasty food, with happy hour served Monday through Thursday 3-6 pm and 9pm-close, as well as Sundays 3pm-close. The food menu includes oyster shooters, bacon balsamic brussel sprouts, hand pattied cheddar cheese burger, fondue and more. They offer $1 off well drinks, draft beer, and glasses of wine, and 20% off of bottled wine. Food dishes average at about $5.
