Burlington’s Best Vegan Takeout Options During COVID-19

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UVM chapter.

Quarantine cooking has been lovely- but even sometimes, I have to take a break and appreciate the ease of takeout. Plus, it means you can appreciate the businesses working hard to keep our community fed during the COVID-19 pandemic! Here are some of my favorite local restaurants offering delicious vegan options. Check them out!

Duino Duende (Do We Know?)

If you can’t tell, I’m already swooning over vegan poutine. Do We Know offers a whole host of vegan options including burgers, sandwiches, and bowls. Place your order here, and don’t forget to add a cocktail while you’re at it!

Drifter’s Restaurant & Bar

While I’m currently reminiscing of warm summer afternoons and eating seitan skewers in Drifter’s courtyard, I guess takeout will have to do for now. Drifter’s offers takeout from 4-9pm Tuesday through Saturday. Try their spicy seitan tacos or blissfully sink into the goodness of any of their vegan desserts. Order here!

Miss Weinerz Donuts

Although you might not think that just eating Miss Weinerz’ Donuts could count as a whole meal, I sure think so! You can pick up any of Ren’s sweet, vegan goodies at City Market Co-Op or by ordering for delivery here

Sherpa Kitchen

Sherpa Kitchen’s food is so good that our own Sarah McAtee wrote an article about them! Sherpa offers customizable options including veggie stew, vegetarian curries, and veggie momos. To place an order, call (802) 881-0550.

Pho Hong

I am a proud regular at Pho Hong on N. Winooski Ave. in Burlington! My favorite vegan dish is their veggie pho (with EXTRA veggies). It’s topped with sprouts, basil, and a hint of lime. You can order Pho Hong by calling (802) 865-8031.

A Single Pebble

Looking to treat yourself after yet another long day in quarantine? Check our A Single Pebble’s menu- full of seitan and veggie options! You can order online here
