Dollar Enterprise is a class that was made famous on the University of Vermont’s campus. Dollar enterprise gives students the opportunity to create and run their own business. Everyday outside Bailey Howe library, you will find teams selling food at the best prices on campus. If that’s not enough to make you fall in love, here are the top nine reasons you need to try lunch at Dollar Enterprise.
1. It’s not Sodexo

If anyone loves Sodexo, they can not be telling the truth. All the food at Dollar Enterprise is purchased from local stores and their prices are half of Sodexo’s prices.
2. Say “Cheese”

Say “Cheese” is making grilled cheese and donating their profits to Pact. Pact is a mentoring program at Burlington High School. Say “Cheese” sells an only cheese sandwich and a pesto grilled cheese, and they’re both delicious.
3. You’re money is going to a good cause

All the proceeds from the sales of Dollar Enterprise goes towards a charity. Even if you are not hungry for some sweet tasting food, you can always donate to their cause.
4. The Breakfast club

It is always hard to find a decent breakfast on campus, at least it is for me. The Breakfast Club sells apple and cheese waffles and also chocolate chip waffles. The best part is they have REAL maple syrup and are donating to Wind Ridge Fjords & Friends.
5. Quickest made-to-order food on campus

Don’t get me wrong, I love Skinny Pancake and Vermont Bean Crafters, but sometimes it feels like you’re waiting forever and in between class you don’t have much time. Dollar Enterprise is the fastest way to get hot food on campus.
6. The Crepe Escape

Crepes are pretty amazing, and The Crepe Escape is the perfect place to get one on campus. Skinny Pancake is great, but it can get a little expensive. The Crepe Escape sells great crepes at a great price.
Bonus: They are donating their profits to The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital.
7. Best Bargain on Campus

Honestly, the markup on campus food is a little ridiculous and living on 12 points a day is one of the biggest struggles of living on campus. At Dollar Enterprise, everything is under three dollars, and they accept cash and credit.
8. For the Love of Sweets

The closest thing to home baked goods on campus is the apple cider donuts at Cat Pause, but honestly who wants to wait in that line. Unlike the other food groups for Dollar Enterprise, For the Love of Sweets is located inside the Davis Center. The Love of Sweets is donating their profits to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
9. Treat Yo’ Self

Treat Yo’ Self is selling home baked treats, and donating it to All Breed Rescue. If you love dogs and sweets you have to stop by their table. Every week their products are changing and you don’t want to miss out on any of them.
