Why Blue Sushi is the Perfect Place for Every Occasion in Dallas

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UTD chapter.

The first time I went to Blue Sushi Sake Grill, it was love at first sight. A type of secret love affair you want to keep to yourself; but I’ve decided that was just too selfish.

Fall in Love

The tasteful ambiance consumes you from the moment you walk in. No matter the time of day, the sort of excitement you only get at night fills your senses; as though the possibilities are endless.

Not Your Average Sushi Restaurant

Blue Sushi has to be one of the most modern restaurants I’ve been to recently. Definitely don’t expect your traditional sushi place when you go. After all, they even have vegan sushi (shown above) in addition to the classic variety of fish.

New to sushi? Don’t worry about looking clueless in a nice place. Check out these articles for newbie advice and some sushi 101 tips to help you out.

The seating alone suggests a wide range of moods. They have classy booths to casual couches and everything in between.

As an indecisive person, you can imagine my delight as I realized that I now have a “go-to” place if I want to take anyone out to eat.

Any Event is Welcome

Blue Sushi is the ideal place for big groups or intimate affairs. If a lot of sushi is ordered, it’ll come on a magnificent boat filled with dry ice to give off a “smokey” aesthetic. I’m also convinced if you brought a date here you’d have a better chance of a second one.

The first time I went to Blue Sushi was for a small celebration with a friend and I was blown away. I initially tried it out because I heard they had vegan sushi (that’s not a common thing as you can imagine), but before I even had my first bite I knew I would be back.

When I went, I saw people coming back from work in scrubs along with couples in formal attire, and no one seemed out of place. You get the feeling of Dallas without having to deal with the chaos of downtown.

Once you’ve experienced Blue Sushi for yourself, you’ll fall in love with it like I did.

I am a pre-med junior at UT Dallas. I've been vegan for about 5 years, a cat mom for about 2, and a dancer most of my life. I'm a peer advisor on campus. The reason for my all nighters aren't because of studying but because of cooking for hours and taking too many cat pictures.
