That one cup of coffee that no one but your college canteen bhaiyya makes, slurping a plate of sizzling Maggi on a cold winter morning with your friends, fighting over the last few bites of that chicken sandwich, making puppy dog eyes for one bite at the friend who was rich enough to buy the “expensive” thali. These little incidents, experiences, and laughs help create so many beautiful memories we associate with food and college.
Food was, is and will always be an integral part of a person’s college life. Whether it is your first association with crappy PG/Hostel food, the nostalgia that comes in with missing home food or maybe the memory of the very first cup of iced tea you bought at your college canteen on your very first day, the plate of canteen rajma rice you first shared with your friends.
The time for wishing good-bye is coming closer, and as a graduating senior you think of so many college-related things you will bid a farewell to. Your campus canteen’s crappy food and your daily college hangouts are some of them. These are places and dishes you created memories with.
So here is another article building up on the emotion of nostalgia this “Farewell” month, where DU’s graduating seniors talk about their favourite college food related memories.
