What’s New With Koala T’s Now Full-Service Menu

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UCLA chapter.

There’s no shortage of Boba places in Westwood village. There’s Boba Loca for the coffee shop hipsters who really like Taro, Coco Tea for an authentic Taiwanese boba complete with in house jelly’s and then there’s Koala T, which has recently revamped itself into a full service restaurant.

Koala T started of as a food truck run by UCLA graduates before settling into its current location on Weyburn avenue. The restaurant meshes the vibes of a student-centric café with the aesthetic of a modern Asian restaurant. Simple yet comfortable tables are set against a wall dotted with power points meant for laptop chargers, while bamboo plants and wooden screens extended across the entrance.

While at opening the café’s menu centered around Boba, it has now extended to feature a full meal’s worth of food. The menu is predominantly generic “Asian” food such as General Tso’s, Orange chicken and Mongolian beef but also features more interesting options such as their Schezuan style beef noodle soup. On the Boba side of things their menu contains all the classics you could imagine and several specialties, including a sea foam jasmine drink and The Meg Ryan.12272899_1061044997240314_1761400666_n

Service at the restaurant is great, and both our food and Boba arrived promptly.

I love eating and cooking, and cooking then eating and all the wonderful ways food brings us together and pushes us to explore the cities around us.
