Last Friday, the Pop-Tarts teamed up with Lyrical Lemonade to present their first-ever limited edition box– Pop-Tarts x Lyrical Lemonade Lemon Creme Pie. This is the first time Pop-Tarts released the reign on their iconic box for an artist to reimagine in a colorful and creative style. Lyrical Lemonade took this “Crazy Good” collab to another level with an exclusive pop-up event on Melrose. Before the release of the limited-edition box on August 14th, Lyrical Lemonade “frosted” fan’s back-to-school wear with collaboration art. This meant that fans were able to bring any merchandise they wanted- from tote bags to t-shirts to shoes- to get custom-designed with patches from the event.
Walking In
The building in which the event was held was immediately eye-catching with bright blue and yellow pop art and the Lyrical Lemonade lemon head icon to represent the collaboration. While walking down Melrose we were able to see the decorated building and fans waiting to get in. Before we even walked in we were able to get photos with Storm Ried, a famous actress known for her role in Euphoria and other famous movies. The event was already off to such an amazing start before we even got to try out everything they had to offer.
When we entered the venue, we were greeted by Pop-Tarts employees and an array of art and prints created by Lyrical Lemonade fans. These included photos of the iconic lemon that Lyrical Lemonade is known for. In the center of the venue, there was the huge limited edition Lyrical Lemonade x Pop-Tarts box. This box was truly eyecatching and is the largest Pop-Tarts box ever made.
Getting Frosted
We were first directed to the “frosting room” where we designed hats, shoes, and bags with Lyrical Lemonade stickers and patches. Music from some of Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett’s biggest projects with artists, like JUICE WRLD, Post Malone, Cardi B, and Eminem, was playing and it was setting the vibes just right for frosting. While waiting to decorate our new merch, the Pop-Tarts team provided us with hats and a tote which held a water bottle, an actual lemonade with the Lyrical Lemonade logo, and some really cool stickers.
Meeting Cole & Ice Cream
After we finished “frosting” our gear, we were directed to a basketball court behind the venue which was filled with fans and celebrities, including Snot, Sommer Ray, and Cole Bennet. An eye-catching wall of endless pop tarts lined one side of the court. The team graciously provided us with three boxes of flavors from Strawberry, Wild Berry, Cookies and Creme, Hot Fudge Sundae, and obviously, the fan-favorite, Lemon Creme Pie.
On the other side of the court was an ice cream station in which we could choose between two flavors– Madagascar Vanilla and Strawberry Pop-Tart Ice cream– and add crumbles of Pop-Tarts as a topping. I never would have thought of pop tarts as an ice cream topping – this was the missing piece of my ice cream sundae that I never knew I needed. We ate our ice cream as we enjoyed people playing basketball and the live DJ music.
From good music, fun art, amazing treats, and an energetic atmosphere, the Spoon UCLA team had a “Crazy Good” time starting the school year off right. Don’t forget to try the Lemon Creme Pie Pop-Tarts flavor before it’s gone! The strong lemon flavor is the perfect way to kick-start this school year.
